Short Film results

I can’t believe that even after I’ve left the school, I still have to do things for Sri KDU…

Anyway, the last judge has finally finished judging, so based on the compilation of all the marks, here are the results… (drumroll!):

Category A:
Gold: 3 Jenner
Silver: 3 Newton
Bronze: 3 Columbus

Category B:
Gold: 5 Dickens
Silver: 4 Dickens
Bronze: 4 Aristotle

End of school holidays

Today is the last day of the mid-year break. It feels odd, knowing that I’m not going back to school tomorrow. I think about my students, and I honestly worry for them (especially the 5th formers) as to whether they can finish the syllabus in time and whether they are going to be able to ace their Physics, as I know they can if they were under my guidance.

I spent the afternoon tacking up my cards in my home office and arranged my presents out on display. Yeah I know I should’ve done that earlier but I didn’t have the time and space – I spent Saturday cleaning out my home office just to make space! Hehehe.

There’s supposed to be a Teacher’s Day Log #2 where I put up photos about my pressies… but I don’t have the time to write that. Contrary to popular belief, when I’m freelancing, I don’t have more time. I have to spend my time working, you know!

Good luck, kids. I hope your new teacher is able to guide you well. I’m not sure what will be happening in the month of June as he’s not slated to join the school until July, so I hope it all works out for the better.

I might be going back to school for Paramount Championship finals (if I’m welcomed, that is).

By the way, I owe Pamela Teh RM14, so can someone please tell her I’ll pay her back when I drop by the school =D

Petrol price increasing!!!

It’s insane. Petrol price is going to go up RM0.78 per litre after midnight tonight, bringing it to RM2.70 per litre. This is going to cause an increase in everything, from food to basic necessities.

The lines of cars at the petrol stations were also insane. I was on my way home from Midvalley with a legitimately empty tank, but I couldn’t get in at any station. I didn’t want to line up at the 4-5km-long-lines because most probably (1) by the time I get to the kiosk, my tank would be completely empty and (2) so would the kiosk.

Time to tighten the belt some more :(

Su & Sue

Of course I didn’t forget you!

I went out for dinner with Suzana and Sue Ching the other night. Suzana and Sue Ching were my students from the Form 5 batch of 2006. Suzana still remembers me, surprise, surprise :P OK, not really a surprise. Sue Ching of course remembers me as she is still a student in Sri KDU.

Bad news for you, Ee Ping. You were not my first shadow in school… :D

Me with Sue Ching

Me with Suzana

We went to Kenny Roger’s at the Curve for dinner. To my recommendation, embarrassingly. I say embarrassing because the service was horrible, the food was cold, and even though it was written “Fountain beverage”, the beverages were not free-flowing. When I first asked for a refill, one of the waiters just turned his back on me, and when I asked another, he said that according to his manager, they cannot be refilled. I only suggested that place because the last time I ate there, it was pretty good. But then, that was quite a while ago. I’m anti-Kenny Rogers from now on.

But in spite of the bad food and service, the company was good :) I even got a present from Suzana!

Sunway Lagoon Photos are up!

After 5 days, I’ve finally managed to complete the upload of the photos of the Sunway Lagoon trip! Curse you, Maxis Broadband for giving me so many problems. Streamyx didn’t give any problems at all.

You can view them here and here.
