Dance Teams
The following are some of the dance teams I have competed and/or performed with.

FORCE 5
(2008)
Team Members:
Pei Ru / Florence / Rachel / me / Kit
Kind of like my baby, Force 5 came together almost at the last minute to compete at a Malaysian open line dance competition in Melaka. The team is considered relatively brand-new as none of us had every competed together before, and out of the 5 of us, only 3 of us have had prior team competition experience with another only individual competition experience, and one who was completely new to the dance competition scene.
With the help of my obliging teammates (who humoured my every request and gave many good ideas), I choreographed the team routine and trained the team to the best of my ability. I’m proud to say that out of 14 teams, we ranked a close 4th!!
Unfortunately one of our team members, Rachel has left to pursue higher studies in Australia, so there’s only four of us left now. Hopefully the rest of us will be able to get together again for another competition in the near future

TEAM SKAB
(2007)
Team Members (from left):
Kobee / Andrea / Bronya / me
This team consisted of four unique individuals with his or her own distinct style of dancing who came together to form a dance team.
This team had never competed together before, but has performed together.

RHYTHM MATRIX
(2006-2007)
Team Members (Clockwise from left):
Peggy / me / Yee / Bronya (coach) / Tracy / Kobee
Not in picture: Vicky / Joanne (not the one from Jazz In Motion) / Janice / Mary / Vivienne / Andrea
Rhythm Matrix was formed through Bronya’s unique method of extending invitations to her dance students who have shown interest and passion. Out of the two competitions they joined last year, I took part in one which was an open dance competition and we ranked 10th out of 25 teams.

JAZZ IN MOTION
(2005)
Team Members (From left):
Joanne / Kobee / me / Catherine
When one of the competitions introduced a division for freestyle (modern jazz) for the first time in years, some of my jazz dance classmates jumped at the chance to compete. It being our first time in such a division, and with jazz new to some of us, we didn’t do well but it was expected anyway. This team was formed only to join the competition and has not competed under this name since.

THE WILD WEST BABES
(2004-2006)
Team Members (From left):
Vicky / Ellyn / me / Mei Ling / Yvonne / Bronya / Hui Koon / Catherine
Not in picture: Tiffany / Edna / Barbara / Kobee
After the Rhinestone Cowgirls won the friendly competition in 2003, they were absorbed into the Wild West Babes team who was the champion of all the team categories in the 2nd Equatorial Bangi Line Dance Championship in 2003. We did spectacularly well in the same competition in 2004, with wins from the team as a whole, as well as the numerous individuals. The team has won several competitions, as well as performed in many dance demonstrations.
The Wild West Babes which disbanded in January 2006 was one of the most fun and exciting chapters of my life and I’m very sorry to see it go; but the disbandment was necessary as most of the team members have moved on to new chapters in their own lives.

THE RHINESTONE COWGIRLS
(2003)
Team Members (Clockwise from left):
Chin Li / Ellyn / Hui Koon / me / Catherine / Tiffany
After my first taste of competitions when I went in solo to the 2nd Equatorial Bangi Line Dance Championship in 2003, I pulled together some of my dance classmates from the line dance class at the gym to form a team for a local friendly competition. We choreographed our own dance, and we practised so hard that we impressed the judges, who included Leong Mei Ling and Bronya Bishorek that they invited the whole team into the Wild West Babes.
The following year the team took part in the first Nestle-sponsored line dance championship and were the champion of the Youth division, and won the best performing team of the same division.
